Accelerated Freefall

Accelerated freefall is the fast track method of learning to skydive. It is the ultimate in skydiving instruction for fun and consists of a 9 stage programme allowing you to freefall on every skydive. Skydivingnz.com and New Zealand Skydiving School’s facilities, instructors and equipment make us a popular choice for many internationals and New Zealanders wishing to skydive for fun. To qualify for an international A certificate, an additional 16 jumps are required beyond the 9 stages tabled below.

Stage 1 Training: 5 hours ground training and jump with 2 instructors. Objectives: Stable body position, altitude awareness, parachute activation, radio assisted landing. Cost: $410

Stage 2 Training: Body awareness, ground training and jump with 2 instructors.  Objectives: Stable body relaxation, pilot chute throw and turning techniques, radio assisted landing. Cost: $305

Stage 3 Training: Hover control and holding a direction, and jump with 2 instructors.  Objectives: Balanced body position, hover control, hold heading, radio assisted landing. Cost: $305

Stage 4 Training: Consolidation of previous levels. Repeat of stage 3. Depending on progress your jump will be with 1 or 2 instructors, with or without radio assisted landing. Cost: $305

Stage 5 Training: Learning to turn and jump with 1 instructor.  Objectives: Linked or unlinked freefall, 360 degree turns. Cost: $200

Stage 6 Training: Consolidation repeat of stage 5 with forward movement and jump with 1 instructor.  Objectives:  To consolidate progress and achieve forward movement. Cost: $200

Stage 7 Training: Backloops and tracking and jump with 1 instructor. Objectives: Dive exit, backloops, 180-degree turn, delta, flare and wave off. Cost: $200

Stage 8  Training: Fast and slow fall, half series and track and jump with 1 instructor.  Objectives: Dive exit to instructor, left turn, right turn, back loop, fall to instructor, 180 degree turn, delta and ‘S’ turn. Cost: $200

Stage 9 Training: Clear and pull. Solo skydive from 3,500 - 4000 ft!  Objective: Subterminal exit and parachute deployment by yourself. Cost: $80

Consolidation Jumps: Cost: $80
